Topics: basic principles of haircutting, proper use of haircutting tools, proper posture and body positioning for occupational health, safety practices in haircutting, use of clippers, trimmers, shavers, and razor blades.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this module, the student will be able to:
Identify and describe the four basic haircuts: blunt, graduated, uniform layer, and long layer.
Define line, section, elevation, and guideline as they apply to haircutting.
Explain how elevation and line choice determine the shape and weight distribution of a haircut.
Identify stationary and traveling guidelines and explain when each is used.
Complete a supervised practice cut on a family member or friend, applying correct sectioning, elevation, and guideline technique.
